CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
BELLY DANCING - Middle Eastern Dance is a fun, energetic, mystical art form. All body types are celebrated here. Our primary focus is FUN while we work up a sweat. This ancient art form is excellent for toning the hips, belly, and lower back. You will learn hip circles, undulations, shimmies, and put it all together in exciting routines. Classes taught at 3 different formats.
Introduction: For those new to the dance; Learn the basic moves while working your core, lrgs, shoulders, and back.
Bellydance Routines: After learning the basics, this is the class for those who want to learn dances. You will learn more moves and several dances- some with veils.
Bellydance Workout: After learning the basics, this is the class for those who want to sweat...no choreographed dances involved. You will be using your basic moves and getting a good cardio workout.
YOGA- This class has three formats for all levels, but each is appropriate for anyone wanting to build flexibility, strength, muscle endurance, and balance, all with the added benefit of greater focus and relaxation. Yoga Workout is a more active and challenging class, Yoga for Everyone is specifically tailored to the needs of the individuals in the class, and Yoga for Relaxation includes a lot of stretching and de-stressing. These are down to earth yoga classes and all sizes, shapes, ages, and skills are welcome.
SUPER PILATES- Get a total body cardio and strength workout. Using hand weights, bands, and exercise balls to increase the intensity or your cardio routine; this format increases overall strength, tones every muscle of your body, and you will sweat! This is a wonderful way to get your physical conditioning.
TAI CHI MOVEMENT- This class involves a combination of rhythmic movements and flow with a Tai Chi focus. Tai Chi Movement is perfect for reducing stress, getting the muscles moving, and increasing blood flow. You may benefit from improved balance, focus, concentration, energy, breathing, sense of wellbeing, and overall wellness. This class is appropriate for everyone, regardless of physical challenges, as there are modifications for all movement to make it suitable and comfortable for everyone.
HULA DANCE- Discover the beauty of Hawaiian dance. Learn about the ancient culture of Hawaii through the art of traditional Hula. Included are the words and translations of songs taught, music and dance notes. Appropriate for women of every age, size, and background. Unlike the Polynesian style dancers featured in movies and tourist attractions, we follow traditional culture which values modesty in dress and movement.
